Paul Shapera's horror-romantic steampunk musical The Dolls of New Albion tells the story of a mysterious city called New Albion and the unfortunate McAlistair family, who are cursed by an invention that brings the dead back to life.

 

The story that spans four generations follows the McAlistair family's struggle with love, jealousy, despair and finally redemption.

 

Paul Shapera's heart-wrenching lyrics and head-spinning music conjure up a past that never existed, taking his audience to the foggy alleys and streets of New Albion with a colorful gallery of characters.

 

The production at Teatteri Toivo in the fall of 2024 is the first Nordic performance of the work. The performance will be in Finnish.
