Voodoo
is a way of relating to the spirit world and dealing with the past, future and present. The most important persons in Voodoo are the priests and mediums, who communicate with the gods through oracles and trance and perform many other tasks in society. An important part of voodoo ceremonies is drumming and dancing, which achieve trance and possession, where the spirits take up residence in the body of the worshipper.
